Ribbon Development

Ribbon Development is the growth of buildings along the main thoroughfares of the city. This kind of development is usually very sudden due to want of a Master Plan and its strict adherence. What is desired to be achieved by a Master Flan is frustrated by a Ribbon Development. These developments take place so rapidly that it is impossible to control it in time and after it comes up, it becomes too late to mend it.

Master Plan has two Objectives :

Orderly development of undeveloped areas.

Reconstructing the developed areas with particular attention to blighted section and improved circulation.

This is achieved through a coordinated, unified system of land use and circulation.
