Industrial Town Planned yet polluted

Rourkela falls in the Panposh subdivision of Sundergarli district in north-western Orissa. Sundergarh has a very disparate terrain. In the north lie the plain broad valleys of the rivers Sankh, Koel and Deo.
The river's rocky bed, however, precludes irrigation or waterway communication. The hills are mainly an extension of the Deccan aridthe
Chhotanagpur plateaux, covered with dense forests of Terminalia, Cedrela, Cassia, Butea, Acacia and Adina. The region is extremely rich in minerals like mica schist, quartzite, phylites, calcite, dolomite marble and limestone....
