Derivation of the Perspective from the Central Projection

The basic principle of the perspective is the central projection (see A1 d). All projectors (sight rays) stem from one point, point A. The view obtained by central projection is different from that obtained by parallel projection- In perspective, the size of an object changes
constantly according to its distance from the plane of projection, called the picture plane.

In order to draw a perspective of an object as simply as possible, stand a sheet of glass in front of the object and on it draw the outline of the object with a wax crayon, Pentel pen, or similar marker. One prerequisite is that the head be held in one position. The construction of a perspective according to the so-called windowpane method is based on this general concept.
