B K Sinha possibly had the best and the toughest job going, when he assumed charge as Municipal Commissioner of one of India's ancient prosperous trading cities, Ahmedabad. He inherited the legacy of historic experiment, first of its kind carried out in any Indian urban civic body by his predecessor, Keshav Varma, and he needed to sustain the momentum achieved. He was keenly aware that following Varma's good act was an uphill task. 
The city corporation, representing  3 million residents; had been completely revamped and made financially sound after being on the brink of collapse. Sinha continued building value to his  job continually and made the Ahmedabad Municipal Corporation the
first civic body in India to approach the capital markets with a bond issue. Under his steerage, Ahmedabad is implementing a massive Rs. 200 crore developmental plan. Sinha shared his experiences with Rajesh Haldipur and A Thothathri Raman of Indian
