The dictates of location should never be forgotten. We so easily forget the environment. I don't believe that transferring an urban apartment to a bungalow, or the reverse, is ever successful. Sensitivity to the architecture and vicinity of a structure is required, and the design should be approached in keeping with that definition,' says Jayashree Darda Bhalla of SEARCH. Spacious and luxurious, this 6 000 sq ft bungalow is an annexe to a pre-existing one, to which it is connected through a courtyard flooded with light. It accommodates five bedrooms a family room and entertainment, living and lounge areas, all spread out over a ground floor and two storeys above. 'In the new India which is emerging, homes are often designed for lavish entertaining, rather than for personal use alone.
