Railway stations are an untapped resource in the Indian economy which can not only help in generating revenue, but also act as catalysts for the development of areas around them. This thesis also aims to explore a new typology of stations, with the insertion of office and retail functions in the station district and on how to develop this assemblage of areas with minimal impact on the environment while being able to generate a dialogue with the city that surrounds it. There are mainly two
reasons for the conception of the project. The existing station cannot cater to the increase in trains (almost double) as all East bound trains are to be re-route to ANVT. Indian Railways are perceived as dilapidated areas with crowded
platforms where one wants to board the train and leave as soon as possible while the station is an important check point in the journey.
The Station is divided vertically with 4 main levels, retail, depature, platforms and arrivals. The forecourt is the membrane that connects  to the city, blurring boundaries between inside and inside and outside, with ample landscape spaces for resting. Disembarking passengers have no need to interact with boarding passengers. The tree-columns interact with
the space engaging in a dialogue with the users
