Jury Comments
• The water body of the native landscape is used as the main focus of the layout with an array of arrangements emerging out of it A rigid radial sort of base layout has been formed for the settlement. The formation of clusters has no variety, sequencing of spaces, or hierarchy, instead the spaces are used as connectors.
• Case studies to understand the layout of t he settlement have been done, but understanding of individual homes and their layout have been missed out.
• Traditional structures could have been extrapolated to explore something new

Meghalaya is a land of rich trad itions and cu lture. The indigenous people of the state, since ages, have been living close to nature. The communities in Meghalaya have long acknowledged this role of 'nature in man and man in nature'. The potential of the place should be utilized to develop this dying heritage in order to make the medicine practitioners, the craftsmen, and the artisan community sustainable.
