COLOUR-CHANGING FURNITURE USING THERMOCHROMIC DYES

Colour-changing furniture is relatively easy to produce by using textiles with the appropriate properties.

LIGHT-EMITTING FURNITURE USING PHOSPHORESCENT GLAZE

Glass tables that luminesce In the dark have been developed by the interior and product designers. A top coat of phosphorescent glass-ceramic paint stores daylight and artificial light and releases it again in darkness.

LIGHT-EMITTING FURNITURE USING LUMINATING FABRIC

The Italian company Luminex has a lurnmating textile in its range of products. It is a composite fabric made from conventional threads and light-conducting threads, and can be illuminated in different colours. Artificially created light is conducted to each separate thread end of the lightconducting part of the fabric and reflected at the inner surfaces so that the major proportion of light is re-emitted.

As furniture used inside rooms is exposed to no or only slightly demanding climatic conditions, much less expensive materials and products can be used.
