Graduated from Bandra School of Architecture (now Raheja College of Architecture). After graduating in 1967, he decided to venture out on his own. Shashi’s milestone project arrived with a request from Professor MV Changadkar, a professor of English at RA Poddar College and the Joint Honorary Secretary of the Bombay Cricket Association.

They asked Shashi to design the Garware Club House for MCA, at a newly acquired ground in Churchgate, Mumbai. His next impressive project was to design Wankhede Stadium at a tender age of 26. The architect’s tryst with designing health care structures began in 1977. His first structure was a hospital designed for Thane Corporation, which was followed by several others in Pimpri and Chinchwad, with the most prominent being Lilavati in Mumbai.

He is currently proud to be associated with the latest Sir Harkishandas Hospital, Mumbai, promoted by Reliance Industries. His keen insight into the dynamics of health care structures is undeniable and well-recognized. Since its inception, Shashi Prabhu & Associates has grown substantially. With over a 100 employees, most of them experienced architects, the company has grown from strength to strength.

Shashi Prabhu’s sons, Amol and Atul are also part of the company and contribute significantly with their design, engineering, project management and financial analysis skill. The company undertakes projects on turnkey basis, which they believe will be the future trend.

The American architect Louis Kahn (1901-1974) is regarded as one of the great master builders of the twentieth century. With complex spatial compositions and a choreographic mastery of light, Kahn created buildings of archaic beauty and powerful universal symbolism. Among his most important works are the Salk Institute in La Jolla, California (1959-65), the Kimbell Art Museum in Fort Worth, Texas (1966-72), and the National Assembly Building in Dhaka, Bangladesh (1962-83). The exhibition ‘Louis Kahn — The Power of Architecture’, presented by the Vitra Design Museum, is the first major retrospective of Kahn’s work in two decades.

It's no secret, contracting businesses face a long list of challenges. Day-to-day, month-to-month, year-over-year, the challenges and curve balls keep on coming. But does it really need to be this way?
Can the cycle of "juggling balls and putting out fires" be broken?
For those willing to do what it takes, the answer is a definite "Yes." But how?Take a look at these:
Mistakes
Miscommunications
Cost overruns
Missed deadlines / lagging schedules
Working from incomplete or the wrong information
Upset clients
Pissed off workers
Employee turnover
Too busy or not busy enough
Job and business related stress
The fact is, the underlying causes of most of the these issues can be reduced and in many cases, eliminated entirely. That's a bold claim but how can it be done?
The answer to your business blues?
Put systems in place to help manage information, workflow, and business processes. Yes, it's that simple.
Systems are the only real answer as they help manage people and information more efficiently, more consistently, and more reliably.
The downside is, it's a big job to develop your own business systems from scratch. It takes a ton of work to figure out what you need, then develop and fine tune systems to make it all happen - but not having systems costs a lot more time, stress, and money in the medium to long run.
